The Italian Flag by Prolapse

album coverUsually Spotify gave you shitty recommendation playlist, but when its not, its like God just sent you a block of gold and 24 block of silver. Since their most streamed song only racking 47k stream as this is written, lemme give you a quick introduction: English indie rock band, Leicester to be exact. active from 1992 to 2000, their genre? Listed as post-punk, indie rock with influence of punk, krautrock and... shoegaze? ok, cool. Their music managed to nests inside my heart, rent free. It capture the best bits of each genre: combination of raging, fast-paced drum; energetic and soothing vocal duet of Linda Steelyard and Mick Derrick; near-shoegaze distortion of the guitar; with a bit of German rock's touch. How is this not enough? Ah, yes, the band never really saw worldwide success, just like any other underrated indie bands. I don't understand yet what was the correlation between Italy and Leceister, but this album could be more solid than the UK itself. 13 songs fully packed with surreal, rebellious undertone, truly one of its kinds. I might've not listening to these lads daily, but when I need to, I just can't skip any song in here. definetely a must listen, at least once type of album, especially if you are a silly teenager with silly music taste :p.
